The 20,000 hectares that comprise the Tufanbeyli prospects encompass a series of carbonate-hosted zinc/ lead/silver deposits occurring in a NE-trending belt in south-central Turkey. Tufanbeyli is the location from which + 200,000 tonnes of +20% zinc was mined from outcrop and direct-shipped to smelters. Preliminary mapping indicates mineralization continues downdip, below the high-grade, structurally-related outcrops previously mined. Large reef structures, fossil beds and breccia zones were mapped, indicating a shallow-water environment. Widespread, intense zinc mineralization was seen, particularly in and around the above-mentioned features. Zinc has been mined along a zone some 8+ km long. One zinc-rich breccia zone mapped, but unexplored is +1 km long and 50–200+ meters wide (+10% Zn, where sampled). A separate zinc-rich gossan horizon has been traced for 3+ km.
